Hospitality meets creativity at the workplace through conversation, coffee and clay. We dived into the four archetypes The Club, The Hub, The Garden and The Library, translating each world into a unique ceramic object that reflects its spirit.
Workcafé & Co.
New spaces for hospitality in offices
The relationship between coffee and work has deep cultural roots, dating back to the 18th century, when coffeehouses became hubs of intellectual discourse and business dealings. This connection evolved alongside office culture, with coffee breaks becoming an integral part of the workday. The introduction of the eight-hour workday in the early 1900s coincided with the rise of coffee as a workplace staple, providing a much-needed energy boost and social outlet for workers.
Modern office workcafés
emphasise informal interactions, work-life balance, and employee well-being, becoming central hubs for creativity and community. Central to successful workcafé design is the concept of creating a space that feels distinctly different from the traditional office and from home spaces dedicated to work activities. This differentiation is achieved through a careful blend of domestic and outdoor elements, avoiding typical corporate aesthetics in favour of a more relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The use of natural light, biophilic design principles, and warm colour palettes plays a pivotal role in cultivating an informal environment conducive to both work and relaxation.
